The Lion Mountain Community is located just outside the city of Whitefish, Montana, three miles from Whitefish city center.  Lion Mountain includes 120 lots of mountain forest terrain, ranging in size from one-half acre to over twenty acres. Most lots offer spectacular views of Whitefish Lake, Glacier National Park, Great Northern Mountain, and the Whitefish Mountain ski area.

Common areas include “green areas” and a private marina with 400 feet of Whitefish Lake shoreline,  a private beach, raft/kayak launch, paddle board/kayak storage racks, a picnic pavilion, secure storage building, a dog park, and a 20-slip  boat dock.

Lion Mountain is proud to be a nationally recognized Firewise Community, and as such, all owners endeavor to reduce the potential for wildfires while maintaining a visually pleasing forest setting.

As a non-profit association, all homeowners share in the cost of maintaining our community that includes private roads and a well water system.

The majority of homeowner’s fees are used to maintain our roads (including snow & gravel removal), our shared green spaces, our beach and our water system. The fees also cover the cost of maintaining the association itself, including financial and government reporting, administrative support, and website.
